Celebrating Creativity:

Solterra’s Photo of the Month Contest Winners (Feb 2023-Aug 2023)

At Solterra, we believe the beauty of solar installations goes beyond their environmental impact. Over the past seven months, our “Solar Installation Photo of the Month” contest has captured the aesthetic of solar energy from a different perspective: our talented crews!

Each month, crews submit photos from their installations to (hopefully!) be chosen as that month’s winner.  Photos are evaluated for “cleanliness” of the installation and creativity, with bonus points if you can spot our new friend, “Sunny” in the frame.  (More to come on Sunny’s story in a future blog post!)

Let’s celebrate the winners from February 2023 to August 2023!

FEBRUARY 2023

14.58 kW Solar Installation using REC 405W panels in Enumclaw, WA. Submitted by team members Marvin, Such, and Mike.

Our first winners were chosen for the clean lines of their installation and the gorgeous mountains in the background. Great photo, team!

MARCH 2023:

8.51 kW Solar Installation using REC 405W Panels in Seattle, WA . Submitted by team members Marvin, Such, and Mike.

March brough us another picturesque photo with a sneak peek at our new friend, Sunny! Views like these make the PNW such a wonderful place to live and to protect for the future.

April 2023:

17.01 kW Solar Installation using REC 405W Panels in Gig Harbor, WA. Submitted by team members Michael, Jesse, and Riz.

April captured our roof crew member, Riz, hard at work installing the standoffs and preparing this slate tile roof for rails and panels.  Sunny was there to help, as well!

MAY 2023

10.53 kW Solar Installation using REC 405W Panels in Spanaway, WA . Submitted by team members Marvin, Such, and Mike.

Marvin, Such, and Mike took their title back with this photo focusing on Sunny! While it may look like she’s laying down on the job, she makes a good teammate to our crews on the roof. Mike is happy to share the spotlight on this one!

JUNE 2023

11.89 kW Solar Installation using REC 410W Panels in Seattle, WA . Submitted by team members Tim, Chom, and Brandon.

Tim, Chom, and Brandon won the June contest by taking their talents to new heights with this photo that showcases Solterra’s ability to work safely on steep roofs.  This 45 degree roof was no match for our crew (especially thanks to our safety harnesses and convenient solar rail foot hold).

JULY 2023

11.48 kW Solar Installation using REC 410W Panels in Edmonds, WA . Submitted by team members Marvin, Such, and Mike.

This customer is excited for their new found energy independence; including using solar to charge their Nissan Leaf. There is not much that is more satisfying than fueling your EV with solar energy! The crew got the family together for this happy group shot right after completing their new solar installation.

AUGUST 2023

38.54  kW Solar Installation (split between roof and ground mount) using REC 410W Panels in Maple Valley, WA . Submitted by team members Tim, Chom, and Panhnha.

Believe it or not, this is only part of the installation! The remaining panels were installed as a ground mount, so that the client could achieve their energy goals.  This photo showcases the skillful work of Chom and Panhnha, who did an excellent job of installing the solar on this tile roof. Not all contractors are willing to work on tile roofs, but Solterra is confident in the workmanship of their roof crews and the technology from our partners in solar mounting hardware, Iron Ridge

Stay tuned for interesting new images in the upcoming months from our Solar Installation Photo of the Month contest!
